Demon Discography - 2.17.21

Demon Discorgraphy.png

If there’s one thing we are pretty confident about, is that underground music is and will always be the newest sound and the force to drive the music industry forward. This is the reason we place such an emphasis on giving underground and emerging artists a platform, so the artists coming up today, are the big acts of tomorrow. With that in mind, we are extremely excited to update our Demon Discography! Our playlist which features nothing but underground artists. The last time we updated the playlist dates back in October of 2020, so we are super excited to share with you guys the music we have been bumping over the last couple of months.

This months update features a ton of new music from names we have featured here before as well as some artists we are hoping to feature including; Krew$, Foggieraw, Che Ecru, Tadafi, Serena Isioma, Stephen Jailon, Hidden Hills, Elujay & J.Robb, The Code, Lo Village, Alycia Bella, BIGBABBYGUCCI, Mathaius Yung, Blackmayo, Artie J, K. Forest, Maxx Owa, AAKHU, Zavage, Hrtbrkfever, AJay!, & Kayandre. All of the songs featured here are top tier but we wanted to highlight some stand artists as well as projects that are favorites of the team.

Mathaius Yung - Space Age Shit

One of our favorite artists right now, Mathaius Young, ended 2020 on a high note with the release of his project Angel Deep. Based out of Cleveland, Mathaius has been making music for the most of his life and it shows. Catching our eye at the beginning of 2019, we featured him on the platform and was already blown away by his discography at the time which included: ‘Take The Night Away’, ‘Take The Night Away 2’, ‘Burnin’ Castles (w/ Tre Capital)’, and ‘Boy Meet’s World’. A very solid artist as far as his discography, Mathaius Young is already a legend in the early stages of his career, and with the release of ‘Angel Deep’ Mathaius has further cemented his name as an artist that we have high hopes for in future. Featuring guest appearances from Michael Seven, Tre Capital, and WesWIll, Angel Deep is a must listen to, and if you want to learn more about Mathaius check out our latest interview with him which can be found here.

Eli Sostre - New Opps

Eli Sostre’s career has been nothing but phenomenal and for those that have been paying attention to him, you know that he is able to release great music on a consistent basis. Making his debut back in 2016 with the release of his project ‘Still Up All Night’, Eli came out the gate swinging. Still finding his unique sound, Eli Sostre has taken some the most prevalent sounds at the time and created a sound that is particular to him and even comes with the help of his go to producer, Soriano. From his 2016 release Eli Sostre has grown as an artist and has added great projects to his discography includingSleep Is For The Weak,Eros, and his latest project Emori’, all of which gets better and better. Eli Sostre stands out to us because not does he have his own sound, he has the ability to carry an entire project on his own with limited features, which is something that is not easy to find today in music.

Serena Isioma - Stop Calling The Police On Me

Serena Isioma has had the best 2020! From grabbing national attention with the release of her single Sensitiveas well as dropping her debut project The Leo Sun Sets. Serena may be in the early stages of her career but she is definitely a force to be reckoned with. ‘The Leo Sun Sets’ is a solid debut album with only features 7 songs, each song is packed with enough make you wanna listen over and over again. One of the first artists we interviewed in our early stages, we have watched Serena grow as an artist and it’s amazing to watch her achieve great heights and we know that she still has more to come.

Scotty Apex - Helpless

Another artist we featured, Scotty Apex, has been since releasing music since 2016 and with each new release he dead ass gets better and better. First coming up on our radar, we first interviewed the artist back in 2019 right before he released newest project at the time Lovesick 2’. Almost two years later and numerous singles, Scotty Apex followed up on the success of ‘Lovesick 2’ with his newest project Starlight, a project that raised the bar even higher for him and his music. Having guest appearances from Mathaius Young, Ejaaz, Michael Seven, and Maxx Owa, Scotty Apex is not going anywhere any time soon.

Maxx Owa - Day by Day

Last but not least, is rising artist Maxx Owa. New to our radar, Maxx is definitely someone that you should look for in upcoming rap. A discography that dates back to 2018, Maxx Owa may have a very limited amount of released music but the quality is always there. Having worked with one of our favorite artists and getting a personal referral from Kami Osha, we couldn’t help but to check him out and we’re more than blown away with him. He also just released his newest project Crescendo so be sure to check that out.

Mathaius Yung - Angel Deep

AngelDeep OC 3ish (2)2.png

Mathaius it's been about a year since we last interviewed you and since that time we’ve gone through a pandemic, an election, and plenty of other things that made 2020 an interesting year. So just to get this interview started give us an update, how have you been and what have you been up to since we last caught up?

God is good through all things and I’m still here so I’m grateful despite the tough times. They helped me learn more about myself. Gotta keep going no matter what and make the most out of your situation. I’ve been staying low and just working and putting plays in motion.

AfterlightImage.JPG

What music have you been bumping as of recently and who are the top 5 artists currently in your daily rotation?

As of recently I’ve been stuck on Fuck The World. It’s one of those projects that just fits the times so accurately. Real-time music. Besides that, a lot of feel good music, some Kenny G, some reggae mixed in, some old R&B. I just need music I can be coolin too. I have so much stuff going on my brain hurts sometimes, music really mellows me out. My top 5 recently been Budgie, Che Ecru, Brent Faiyaz, Doe Boy, & Beam.

How have things been in terms of your career and networking, and what are some big goals you accomplished before 2020 ended?

I’m blessed. God just been putting me in a position to win and helping me peep what I don’t need in my life. Been blessed to have been making some dope stuff with people I admire a lot and that’s as much as I can say. Got more work to do.

So in terms of music you’ve been lowkey but busy before 2020 ended you released your new project Angel Deep. Give us a description of the project, the meaning of the title, and who or what inspired you to put it together?

Man Angel Deep is the other side of me that people haven’t got yet and its the side of me that isn’t boastful, it’s so vulnerable. I love it. I feel aligned with my purpose so much that it feels like I have angels around me. I feel like so many things should’ve stopped my journey but I’m still here to make some noise so I’m moving letting the world know where my faith stands. This is what it is.

IMG_3379.JPG

I gotta stay. I'm amazed how you’re constantly able to deliver amazing music and you continue that trend with this project. Some of my favorite songs on the project are Space Age Shit, Actors, 201 Interlude, Cloud 9, and Invested. Tell us more about each of these songs, and what are some of your favorite songs?

Man I love them songs so much bro. I’m going to let the music speak though. My favorite is Invested. I’ve always wanted to make a song like that. No drums and just a vibe man. S/o summer walker.

Not only are you a talented vocal artist, but you are also a great producer so in terms of your project how much of it did you produce yourself, and did you tap in any other producers to hell you get the project together?

Thank you foreal. I produced about 80%. I feel like my strongest skill is just my ear and knowing when something needs more or less. Everyone involved played a role and never did more than what was needed. These guys are some of the most talented people I know.

In addition to production, you also featured some talented artists including Michael Seven, Tre Capital, & WesWill. What made you want to tap these artists in for your project & more importantly how did you get those amazing background vocals from Wes Will?

Honestly it was just the timing. Me and tre have been friends but he’s never been on any of my solo projects. I tell stories and if you don’t fit into the narrative it’s not personal. That’s a good way to put it. I want all the music to be treated like movies. Same with Michael Seven, but he just knew what to say and it worked. That song was us just chilling at the crib. I wanted something that felt like a spacey strip club anthem. Wes Will just a hidden gem that I hope I helped shine some light on. The world gone know about bro soon. Just watch. Bro is so dope man voice is so soulful and just reminds me of home. We actually knew each other when we were super duper young and I switched schools. Then years later were both doing music and I’m like yo dude wtf. And just remembering each other back in the day and just both understanding what I wanted to do. It worked perfectly. We both like most of the same music.

In addition to your musical career, you also have some other ventures including your record label Angel Deep Records, your clothing line, and your sound kits. Tell us more about each of these and where can the audience go to check them out?

I’m tryna be a business man and CEO on some Jay Z shit. I respect heavy what he’s done and what Drake have done with their branding and team and aesthetic. It took years of maturing to have this vision for a company but it feels right. Right now you guys are getting the start of the music that will be released under Angel Deep, my project was the first release. I love clothes so we’ve released some merch that can be found at ANGELDEEPRECS.COM . Along with the sound kits that I have released can also be found there. I wanna just contribute some swag to the world and add to what our OGs have done before us, and just help keep the world a dope place, despite the crazy stuff that’s been happening. God bless the world man.

In terms of visuals you put out an amazing video for Space Age Shit, do you plan on putting out any more visuals for the project?

Hell yeah. Just be patient!

It’s a brand new year with a brand new fresh start so what do you have planned for 2021 and where do you want to be by the end of the year?

Words are nothing without action. Let’s keep it a surprise.

Any last words?

Stay blessed and keep ya spirits high through the bullshit out here. Fuck the world but love ya people and the ones who deserve it.

"Self-Isolating? Here." - Top Underground Tracks of the Month

So, Coronavirus huh?

It’s a deadly beast and those of us who’re inside keeping out of it’s reach of you and your loved ones, we at Nefarious Supply applaud you. Our reward? The hottest new underground tracks to look out for this month!

Whether it’s seizing the day, showing love as creatively as you can, dealing with dark thoughts, spending every day of the week with someone you cherish, spitting bars with your friends, or getting away and doing you for the weekend, whatever your quarantine days have been looking like, Nefarious Supply is here for you every step of the way.

With great artists, and even better art. 😈

Stephen Jailon - Smashbros

A groovy first track for the list, NS veteran Stephen Jailon is back with a video for his new track Smashbros. With the Latin undertones of the guitar-led melody and the precise 808s hitting with the beat flawlessly, Stephen shows time and time again that he can have fun and still be the hardest rapper on the scene. Smashbros is a tribute to his discography so far and he holds his place a lyrical and flow-switching genius on the beat.

Michael Christmas - Credit (ft. Saint Lyor)

Credit is the collaboration between rising artists Michael Christmas and Van Buren Records’ heavy hitter Saint Lyor. Michael spits from the very second the track starts and begins his lyrical assault on the beat, partnered with alley-oops to Lyor who slams it down with his own uncompromising verses. The track is short but filled with fun and creative flow switches and witty lines from the two rappers, light-hearted and notable addition to our quarantine list.

Knightamore - 7deadly$ins (ft. Nessa Grim)

Coming in with hard production and roomy vocals, Knightamore and Nessa Grim completely body this track, whether it comes from Knightamore’s shadowy verses or the brooding chorus and outro and Nessa Grim, but the two come together in the best possible way. You can hear a snippet of a scene from 2019’s Joker, where Arthur is questioned by his psychiatrist. He states: “You’ve asked the same questions every week. How’s your job? Are you having any negative thoughts? All I have are negative thoughts.” The perfect summarization of this song’s main topic.

Shalom Dubas & Jake Vicious - 7 Days (Flip)

Shalom Dubas and Jake Vicious are an exemplary team on this track. Using the chorus from 7 days by Craig David 2000s flips. Vicious’s production slips underneath Shalom’s voice is like butter and no beat or melody seems out of place in the slightest, bringing together smooth and enjoyable track for a sunny afternoon.

Odd Mojo - Sunday, Monday

Probably the most quarantine-themed track on this last, Odd Mojo uses a velvety melody with a variety of sounds that compound and make a perfect base for her to spit freely and switch her flows up effortlessly. Mojo preaches to her fans about seizing the day, no matter if it’s Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, etc… any day is a chance for you to do something great, and the artist wants her fans to know you just have to get started because that’s the hardest part.

Arhinslim - Starlit

Arhinslim has just released a video to his track “Starlit” a song that made the cut on his 2019 album, Superfly. The playful synths correspond a delicate chiming, propagating a dark and mysterious melody. The hi-hats and kicks punctuate Arhinslim’s lyricism and varied flows that switch and refine themselves throughout the course of the track. Arhinslim speaks on his failures and successes, about his journey to where he is now and what he has in store for his fans in the future.

Mathaius Young - Poppin

Ending off our list is Mathaius Young with his newest track, Poppin. The production is smooth and the melody is composed of a collection of silky voices following a vocal progression over top a seductive 808, a guitar riff takes over towards the end and beautifully rides the beat out. On the track Mathaius seems to be swooning over a woman that’s caught his eye. He remarks in one of the verses that though he doesn’t like bringing up the past, she might even be better than the last.

Mathaius Young - Ultra Worldwide

IMG_2154.jpeg

Hey Mathaius Young thank you for coming on and agreeing to interview with Nefarious Supply. So to get the interview started, give us some background on who you are, and what got you started making music?

No problem bro. I’m Mathaius Young. I’m an artist and producer from Indianapolis, born in Cleveland.  my background is kinda wild cause my people been in music since i was born. The dots aint connect til i was a lil older. My moms was rappin and my dad was making beats. I used to see my mom rappin and going to the studio alot and i was always around. So i wanted to be just like her, writing raps and  hoping i could record (she never let me). I fell off after like 10 and came back to music when i was like 15.

Where are you from and how has this area played an influence on you, your style of music, and your overall image as an artist?

Adjustments.jpeg

I’m from the midwest/east coast man. So we got our own style bro, its real chill formal. Like each region of the US got they own swag but ours is less flashy and more just authentic and real. Like people like Cudi and Chief Keef are perfect examples of that to me. Even growing up on people like Dipset. & alot of R&B. I grew up around all women so i got the perfect taste of both worlds, rap and r&b. I still remember songs from when i was a kid, SWV and  Amerie were the shit man. still are til this day. all that plays a part.

In addition to the previous question what artists or people have played an important role in your life, and if you could collab or work with anyone right now alive or dead who would you chose?

Man, first off, God. My mom for puttin me on to the coolest music and style foreal. My grandparents for holding me down when I was fucking up in life and had to reset. My dad for being a stand up dude and allowing  me to grow into my own man. Ebony (wondagurl) for being my best friend and understanding me in every way foreal. And my best friends who are the nicest people I’ve met and for being there for me always. im very love oriented. I feed off my relationships in my life. Big part of what i make.

How long have you been in the industry, and coming up as an artist what are some important lessons you’ve learned?

In the industry? I wouldn’t say am in the industry yet to be honest. I know and am friends with people in it, but I’d say I’m on the outside looking in.  I’ve been working with artists in the industry professionally for the last 2 years. It’s taken a while to get to that point where I can work with the artists I actually wanna work with. Been alot of no responses and "almost" moments.  Everything is a lesson to be honest. you gotta keep your head down and work, still live your life and strive for happiness but you gotta earn what you get from this game.

Meaning alot of sacrifice, alot of praticing what you love and aiming for the best everytime. If u hold yourself to constantly wanna create dope stuff then more likely than not, something is going to happen for you. Whether its a song blowing up, or a video blowing up, or your favorite artist recording to your beat.  It’s always gotta be about the art and not the money. The money gone come but if the art is wack you definitely not getting no money. So just create what you want  but make it dope. and dont let anyone convince you your crazy ideas are too crazy.

Adjustments.jpeg

I actually learned about you after interviewing Kami Osha and saw the cover he did for “Boy Meets World - EP” I really liked the cover art and after listening to it its highkey straight heat and one of the best underground projects this year. Give us somebackground on the project?

I appreciate that man foreal and word, thats my boy. Cool ass nigga forsure man. We did that cover art quick, i had a vision for it and we just made it happen. the project was just how i was feeling at the time. A boy coming into his own. Wanted something people could ride around to and feel like the shit to or play at a party or be sad to. Just some emotions to share. It’s also i feel a project that shows how versatile i am.

You actually got Sonny Digital as a feature on “Fast” how did you meet him and how did you get him on the record?

I met Sonny in Los Angeles at the studio for the first time. But we clicked on some music shit way before we ever met. He reached out to my management at the time and wanted to connect. We chopped it up and been cool ever since. We got alot of stuff we've done together on the music side, some out and some unreleased still. thats an A1 dude forsure. He done did shit for me that only like your parents would do man. one of the realest in the game. I just sent him the record and he sent it back and it was done. He killed my part to be honest. underrated!

“Ultra Records” is one of my favorite songs on the EP and the music video for is amazing bro, tell us more about the song?

Thank you bro. ultra records is an anthem for the city and for the homies in ultra records, which is my group and record label. We all known each other for like 7 years and we just been hella cool and real life friends. We all create and make shit. one of my best friends, A.R.E., helped direct the video along with myself. It’s def alot of people favorites of mine.

Adjustments.jpeg

So let’s take a look back at some of your previous projects “Take The Night Away” & “Take The Night Away 2”, both are amazing bodies of work each with a different feel and sound. But I noticed on the second iteration you went fully solo with no features, what drove that decision, and was it challenging as an artist going completely solo on a project?

To be honest, no one can articualte whats in my head other than me. So its organic to just do what I hear all the way out in the song. It used to be hard to do whole songs on my own because hooks used to be difficult, but now I feel like I got them on lock which makes the process so much more comfortable and fun. i see features as roles in a movie. You have to be very particular when it comes to who is in your movie, or else you. gone fuck up the original vision. I trip about every single detail. i know when everything is executed to the T, the end result is so much more impactful!

You actually put out a collab project with Tre Capital called
“Burnin Castles” tell us about the project and what got you and Tre Capital in the studio together to put out this project?

Day 1 homie. Iit wasnt a big deal we just wanted to put out a project together and we were in LA cooking up alot of songs just being at Good Music and working  on our tracks. being in LA definitely set the tone for it and Kami sent the artwork back and we just put it out. I like everything organic and there’s not usually a big backstory for alot of the collaborations Iv’e been a part of.

Adjustments.jpeg

So you’ve worked with a ton of talented artist and have put out amazing bodies of work.. So what’s next for you, what are you short term goals as 2019 comes to an end, and what are your long term goals from 2020 on?

Short term is to get some more work in with some of the artists i been fucking with. I don’t wanna speak on it too much because i think talking about shit too soon jinx alot of stuff. but more songs. I wanna take over the game and give it a whole new vibe. I’m here to show muthafuckers you can be you and still kill it. Fuck compromising, and repeating whats already been done. As an artist I feel like we gotta be innovative and push art forward man. But still create stuff that’ll stand the test of time. Everyone is on their own path but the people I grew up on let me know that being yourself is how you stand out and become valuable. I want to fully launch my label Ultra Worldwide really focus on building my team and inner circle. And finish this damn album, really really go crazy on this album.

Long term is to just create an impact on whatever i choose, I’m not aiming for recognition. I’m aiming to change lives. Change my life, my families lives, my niggas lives, and the people out there who are looking to be something in life.  I wanna connect and grow with people whos aspirations are bigger than them and who want to live unapoligetically. I wanna be classic and futuristic. i wanna be now and forever man.

Any last word?

Create everyday and dont ever let anyone shit on you. Do what you want in this life and move with a purpose. Stand firm in your beliefs. stay focused on your journey, and help others along the way.
