Monroe Jxrdan - Ultra444

Where or what are you representing with your music? What concepts and themes drive the foundational aspects of the creation of your sound? Why are these concepts and themes, if any, so important to you?

Wow so for me I’m trying to represent Colors if that makes sense, see colors are like feelings or emotions one day you feel blue the next day you feel orange but that’s the main thing i wanna represent with my music, The everyday struggles with dealing with emotions and colors. Expressing yourself is so important to me like finding a music.

What keeps your current audience listening and why should people start listening if they haven’t already? What parts of you as an artist do you feel are most attractive to your audience? Is it your lyrical ability? Flow? Your style? Or maybe a conglomerate of those things?

I think it’s a mix of everything people just love my style of music I’m very laid-back and chill and the way i go about things musically and outside of music people naturally gravitate towards me because I’m relatable you look at my Instagram feed it’s just me living life riding my bike around the city or eating different food’s, I don’t talk about crazy flex’s or f**king supermodels I’m just a normal guy who plays video games and that speaks about being in or out of love I think most people can find comfort in that like “wow this guy isn’t trying to do too much or be something he’s not”

How would you describe your music to someone who’s never heard it before, without using words that have to do with music?

I’d say it’s chill, melancholic and ambient like I’m saying some sad stuff but in a very chill way....with my sounds i feel like you can relax and just vibe out to it zone out for an hour and come back

Who inspires you for your sound? Who were the main influences in your life that helped you along the way or maybe even said something in a book or tv show one time that inspired you?

It’s definitely a few I’d like to say sound wise but Frank Ocean and The Weeknd, Both of those guys really got me into music like just the way they interact with sounds is just amazing and the lyricism from both of those guys especially Frank he just puts you in a whole different world but other than that I’d say Donald Glover inspires me lifestyle wise I’m really into Film and cinematography so one day I’d like to disappear from music and just make movies and TV shows for a while

Who do you listen to on a regular basis? Who are the go-to artists that really strike your creative nerve, or are simply your favorite artists to sit back and vibe too?

I listen to everything I don’t have a favorite genre I think music is becoming genre-less anyway but I love 80’s pop music especially the stuff they were making in Japan in really good stuff but right now I’m really into electrical sounds and things like that so right now so I’ve been bumping Vegyn, Duval Timothy and other instrumental artist

Walk us through the steps the group takes to create a track. What is your creative process? Do you guys happen to just walk into the studio and throw some beats on until one sticks? Or is there a more delicate process involved?

For me I have to go through something or hear something really dope to even get inspired but when I am inspired the process can be quick or long depending on if I’m producing the track myself or not and I don’t write I usually let words come to me while I’m on the mic so if I’m really feeling it the words and flow come right away but if I’m not feeling it I’ll just sit for a while and think until i get tired and start over the next day
